Bouldering at Mcafees Knob and other climbing on the Appalatian trail

this is one of the most photographed vistas on the AT  it is also flanked by multiple great boulder problems well worth the 3 mile hike to get here.

two main bouldering zones on either side of the Knob a labyrinth of challenges await  the not so lazy climber.

on November 17th summit county climbers made there presence and intent known.The summit county metro park heard the proposal of local climbers to allow access in the metros. this first step was an important one. the NEOCC and akron bouldering coop teamed up ta get the job done.

on nov 17 2010 north east ohio climbers will try to gain legal access to the akron gorge miles of rock faces and boulders are currently off limits to climbers and parts of the park is off limits  to all access. a sad reality in ohio is this kind of lame policy being permitted to exist at all !  ohio climber unite! go to the summit county metro park page and demand  Access to  recreate !!!!!

Rubber city gorge

This part of the Akron gorge has been closed to an access for 25 years. now however we have the opportunity to capitalize on an over site, clean up this pig sty and get some great sessions more info to come!!!!

On labor day weekend a group of freinds and loved ones gathered at chestnut Ridge WV to put joe marusiak to rest . he was and is still being spread over the woods he loved .we miss you brother!!
